The legendary Moose Blues is on the way back, this time as Mini Moose edition with amazing international teachers Jenna Applegarth & Dara Anderbard, and some of the best jazz musicians in Norway David Skinner and Lars Frank. Get ready for 3 beautiful days full of dancing, learning, and socializing
Teachers
Dara Anderbard
Dara has been teaching Lindy Hop and Blues since 2011 and lived out of a suitcase as a travelling man for 5 years; moving between scenes, teaching and DJing workshops around Europe. In 2017, he relocated to Valencia - finally back in the warm climate he enjoys - to join forces with Leigh and cook up some special sauce for some of the biggest blues events in Europe.
Dara teaches Blues Dance, Lindy Hop, Authentic Jazz, blues DJing and blues history both in his home scene in Valencia, Spain; and at international blues events.
Jenna Applegarth
Jenna found swing dancing in 2004 in her small local scene of Wenatchee WA. Since then she has spent countless hours expanding her dancing repertoire and sharing her love and knowledge of these dances with others. Her energy and passion create the perfect environment for learning.
Jenna has attended, coordinated, and taught various workshops and exchanges all across the globe. Some of her favorite highlights are performing at Benaroya Hall in The Jump Session Show and teaching for Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing. Above all else she believes that learning to dance should be fun, and rooted in the music and history. With over 15 years of teaching/coaching/training experience, she loves finding new ways to connect with other dancers on the floor and in the classroom and to create challenging yet applicable lessons in the classroom.
Music
DAVID SKINNER
David has been a professional jazz musician since 2001, with piano as his main instrument. He has organised music for all occasions, from solo to large ensembles. He runs his own monthly swingjazz night in Oslo, Café Society which is highly recommended. He works regularly with swing-related dance events and has organised live music for Norwegian swing dance festivals in Oslo and Bergen.
Lars Frank
Lars is an internationally known saxophonist and clarinetist. He became interested in New Orleans jazz at an early age. He has played in bands such as; Union Rhythm Kings, Jazzin Babies, Jazzombies, Lucky 7, and Ytre Suløen's Jazz Ensemble. In recent years he has also been a soloist at several international festivals and in 2016 was awarded the Japanese Kobe Jazz Street Award.
DJ BeardMoose
Sean is a blues and lindy hop dancer and DJ. He started dancing in the Netherlands and had since moved to Oslo, Norway. He loves jazz and blues music and enjoys the opportunity to share his favorite songs with others.
His passion for blues is such that when he came to Oslo and there was no blues dancing he started a scene there.
